Steam sales tracking service Steam Spy creator Sergey Galyonkin has mined the platform’s data and produced an interesting result yet again: This time, he’s taking a look at which user-generated tags (which typically cover game subject matter or genre) have grown and shrunk in recent years as a proportion of the total number of games on the platform.
While it’s hard to draw any major conclusions from the data — his only significant takeaway is that the content on the platform has changed a lot in the last few years — but it does let you get a snapshot of what kinds of games players like to buy; it might help you guess which kinds of games there may be too many or too few of.
